New Engineering Faculty at the Oluvil University

Fifth Engineering Faculty in Sri Lanka was declared open by his Excellency the President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakse on 5th February 2013 at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka at Oluvil, in the Eastern Province. 

First intake of 100 students have been enrolled from various parts of the country from 2011 advance level batch and academic activities have already commenced since 27th of May 2013.

The Faculty has 5 Departments offering field specialisations in Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical and Software Engineering. The curriculum was developed according to the Washington accord and satisfying the IESL accreditation requirements, with the consultation of group of Senior Professors and Senior Academics in the field of Engineering. In future, it is planned to further expand the studies to more Engineering disciplines related to regional and national development.

It should be highlighted that the Vice Chancellor Dr. S.M. Ismail has been very instrumental in establishing the new Engineering faculty at the South Eastern University.
